Masses of fun at festive switch-on
THE Bollington Christmas Lights will be turned on with a huge family event on Sunday, November 29.
The evening’s fun will run from 4pm to 7pm outside Bollington Town Hall.
There will be a Santa’s grotto, a range of stalls, barbecue, live entertainment, mulled wine, children’s entertainment and refreshments by Lee Wainwright from the Vale Inn.
Father Christmas will arrive at 5pm to switch on the lights at 5.30pm, and will be giving presents out to children with the help of his elves and Girl Guides.
George Cann, who is a member of Macclesfield Lions Club, which organised the event with the Town Council, said: “This is very much a community project with Bollington Town Council and Macclesfield Lions Club being joint co-ordinators, with the support of Girl Guiding and local townspeople forming an organising committee.
“Every year we try to enhance the event. This year we have more local community involvement in organising the event, expanding the children’s entertainment and at least six stalls with Christmas items. Monies raised will be for local charities and good causes.”
