Joanne scoops care award

A CARE worker is cel­e­brat­ing af­ter win­ning at the CLS Care Ser­vices’ pres­ti­gious Star Awards cer­e­mony.

Joanne Don­nelly re­ceived the Care Pro­fes­sional of the Year award for her work at Park­lands in Poyn­ton.

The ti­tle is awarded to an in­di­vid­ual who has de­liv­ered high qual­ity per­son-cen­tred care con­sis­tently and to the high­est stan­dard.

Com­ment­ing on Joanne’s win, An­drea Male, from West Cheshire Col­lege, one of the 10 in­de­pen­dent judges at the CLS Star Awards, said: “Joanne is a prime ex­am­ple of a de­voted staff mem­ber. Her per­son­cen­tred val­ues come through ef­fort­lessly.”

The awards cer­e­mony was held at Jo­drell Bank Ob­ser­va­tory.

The win­ners of the Star Awards were se­lected fol­low­ing in­ter­views with in­de­pen­dent judges from or­gan­i­sa­tions in­clud­ing Skills for Care, De­men­tia Care Mat­ters, West Cheshire Col­lege, the Na­tional Ac­tiv­ity Providers As­so­ci­a­tion, Cog­nisco, and the Royal Col­lege of Nurs­ing.

The Star Awards are open to all CLS staff mem­bers.

Col­leagues and visi­tors to CLS care homes are able to nom­i­nate the peo­ple and teams who make an ex­cep­tional con­tri­bu­tion to the or­gan­i­sa­tion’s res­i­dents, cus­tomers and staff.

Pre­sent­ing at the awards were CLS Group Head of Peo­ple, Phil Or­ton, and Lind­sey Daw­son of Skills for Care.

CLS also op­er­ates care homes in Mac­cles­field and Bolling­ton.
