WITH Christ­mas just around the cor­ner why not get some prac­tice in work­ing with gin­ger­bread and try th­ese sweet treats.

Once made, put in an air tight con­tainer to keep them at their best.

In­gre­di­ents: ●● 12oz plain flour ●● 4oz mar­garine ●● 8oz syrup ●● 4oz caster sugar ●● Two tea­spoons ground gin­ger ●● Half tsp bi­car­bon­ate of soda

Method: 1. Pre-heat oven to gas mark 5. 2. Sieve to­gether the flour, gin­ger and bi­car­bon­ate of soda. 3. Heat the mar­garine, sugar and syrup and then add to the dry in­gre­di­ents to form a dough. 4. Leave to cool then roll out thinly and ei­ther us­ing cut­ters or a knife make your gin­ger­bread men shapes. 5. Place on a tray leav­ing room be­tween each and cook for 10-15 min­utes.
