WITH Christmas just around the corner why not get some practice in working with gingerbread and try these sweet treats.
Once made, put in an air tight container to keep them at their best.
Ingredients: ●● 12oz plain flour ●● 4oz margarine ●● 8oz syrup ●● 4oz caster sugar ●● Two teaspoons ground ginger ●● Half tsp bicarbonate of soda
Method: 1. Pre-heat oven to gas mark 5. 2. Sieve together the flour, ginger and bicarbonate of soda. 3. Heat the margarine, sugar and syrup and then add to the dry ingredients to form a dough. 4. Leave to cool then roll out thinly and either using cutters or a knife make your gingerbread men shapes. 5. Place on a tray leaving room between each and cook for 10-15 minutes.
