Festive feast from choir and school children
WITH December just around the corner, a choir is getting ready to put everyone in the festive spirit.
Once again members of the public are invited to enjoy the ‘Carols for All’ concert at the United Reformed Church on Park Green.
The event, which over the years has raised thousands for charity, will be led by the Thomas Cranmer Choir, with children from Gawsworth and Park Royal schools also taking part.
Conducted by Keith Yearsley MBE with John Pyatt on organ, it will begin at 7pm on Monday, December 14.
The money raised through tickets and a collection on the night will go towards research into Batten’s Disease, a disease which prevents children from reaching maturity.
The charity was chosen after organisers were inspired by Ollie’s Army, a fundraising group set up by the parents of Ollie and Amelia Carroll, from Poynton, who have been diagnosed with the disease.
Tickets cost £3 from a member of the choir. Children aged 11 or under go free with a paying adult.
Tickets can also be bought at Cherry Blossom Bakery, Church Wallgate, or by calling 01625 424215.
