A CYCLIST who died after becoming ill at a coffee shop at the weekend has been identified.
Police launched an urgent appeal to identify a man who wasn’t carrying any ID when he became unwell at Costa Coffee in Poynton.
After a picture of his bike was shared across social media, the man has been named as Stephen Hardacre, 53, from Hazel Grove.
Mr Hardacre had stopped after the coffee shop during a bike ride when he collapsed in the Park Lane coffee shop.
Paramedics attempted CPR at the scene and treatment continued in an ambulance but he sadly later died at Stepping Hill Hospital.
Cheshire Police confirm there are no suspicious circumstances and there will be no further investigation.
The Stockport Coroner has been notified about his death.
