A CY­CLIST who died af­ter be­com­ing ill at a cof­fee shop at the week­end has been iden­ti­fied.

Po­lice launched an ur­gent ap­peal to iden­tify a man who wasn’t car­ry­ing any ID when he be­came un­well at Costa Cof­fee in Poyn­ton.

Af­ter a pic­ture of his bike was shared across so­cial me­dia, the man has been named as Stephen Har­dacre, 53, from Hazel Grove.

Mr Har­dacre had stopped af­ter the cof­fee shop dur­ing a bike ride when he col­lapsed in the Park Lane cof­fee shop.

Paramedics at­tempted CPR at the scene and treat­ment con­tin­ued in an am­bu­lance but he sadly later died at Step­ping Hill Hos­pi­tal.

Cheshire Po­lice con­firm there are no sus­pi­cious cir­cum­stances and there will be no fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

The Stock­port Coroner has been no­ti­fied about his death.
