Feast for cycle fans as Wheelers head for hills
CYCLING fans are urged to wrap up warm and enjoy front row seats at the Macclesfield Wheelers’ Supacross.
The race, which sees cyclists lap a short circuit featuring pavements, trails, steep hills and obstacles, is being held at South Park on Monday, December 28.
It’s being organised by the Macclesfield Wheelers cycling club, and is round 12 of the North West Cyclocross league, supported by Cyclestore. co.uk and Brewtique.
Racing starts from 10.45am for the ‘Nimrod’ Under 16 race and 11.30am for the U12s.
The U10s race begins at noon, and the U8s at 12.15pm – with new competitors under 12 welcome to have a go.
The ‘Brewtique’ Vet/ Women’s race is at 12.45 and the senior men race at 2.15pm.
Ruth Gamwell, organiser, said: “Attracting the best cyclocross riders from across the north west in all categories, the racing is set to be hard and fast, with a course that is a firm favourite with the riders.
“We are looking to make it more of a community event with supporters in the park.
“So come down and enjoy the hard and fast sport of Cyclocross in the beautiful surroundings of South Park.”
