Kids spread cheer with production and festive party
IT’S been a busy season for young performers at Fallibroome Academy who put on a huge end of term production and hosted a Christmas party for senior citizens.
With almost 200 cast and crew involved, the pupils’ production of Dickens’ classic tale ‘A Christmas Carol’ proved to be a joyful start to the festive season.
Will Rutley, who is in year 13 and played Ebeneezer Scrooge in the show, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed playing the role of Scrooge in my final year at Fallibroome.
“It was such a rewarding experience to be part of A Christmas Carol and I am grateful for the oppor- tunity to be part of a great show.”
Students also organised a Christmas party for their elders, raising funds for the party with a ‘jeans’ day at school.
Tea and cakes were served by the students, with musical entertainment from the school brass ensemble and choir.
Performing Arts Coordinator, Dawn Devine said: “It’s lovely to be able to provide the opportunity for some of our more senior community members to have a festive afternoon out. It is fantastic for our students to have the chance to chat to them about the memories that the music and carol singing stirs.”
