Tourism students whisk guests to Hollywood for fundraiser
MACCLESFIELD College’s travel and tourism students held a glamorous Hollywood themed evening to raise money for an educational trip to Spain.
A buffet style menu was created with the help of the college’s catering students to include something for everyone.
Students also created decorations for the college’s Silk Room restaurant and bought Hollywood themed items to dress the tables.
A Tinseltown themed quiz tested participants’ star knowledge and there was also a raffle.
The marketing for the event, as well as designing posters and leaflets, was done by the students, who also created the tickets and menus for the evening.
Travel and tourism tutor Nwyla Tatton said: “The students made sure everyone had a lovely time and the catering students also served the buffet food and drinks.
“They all did us proud and parents commented on how well organised and how lovely the food and the evening was.
“The event also gave them an excellent opportunity to see what a career in event management would be like.”
