Sleigh tour raises £5,100 for needy causes

RES­I­DENTS have been praised for do­nat­ing a whop­ping £5,100 dur­ing this year’s Santa Sleigh tour.

The an­nual event or­gan­ised by Mac­cles­field Round Ta­ble aims to raise cash for lo­cal char­i­ties and good causes.

Lo­cal char­i­ties are now be­ing asked to ap­ply for fund­ing or sup­port by Jan­uary 31.

Chair of Mac­cles­field Round Ta­ble, Ben White­ley, said: “Once again I would like to say a mas­sive thank you to the kind hearted and gen­er­ous peo­ple of Mac­cles­field who have re­sponded mag­nif­i­cently to our an­nual col­lec­tion.

“It is very en­cour­ag­ing to me as chair that the Round Ta­ble brand is still very wel­come and hugely recog­nised on all the doorsteps of Mac­cles­field.

“I would also like to thank Round Ta­ble chief elf Carl Enser for or­gan­is­ing and sup­port­ing Santa’s Sleigh in 2015, all cur­rent Round Tablers, Peter Pan club mem­bers and 41 club mem­bers for pitch­ing in on ev­ery sleigh run from the middle of De­cem­ber up to Christ­mas Eve.

“This year we were also de­lighted to be sup­ported by other vol­un­tary or­gan­i­sa­tions and lo­cal busi­nesses.”
