Church’s charity music evening
ST PETER’S Church will host a music evening in support of charity Christian Aid with professional singersongwriter Gareth DaviesJones.
The acoustic folk music event is on Saturday, January 23, at 7.30pm.
Gareth’s music has featured on BBC radio and he tours regularly in the UK and Ireland.
Christian Aid regional co-ordinator Helen Howe, from Prestbury, said: “It will give people a taste of what we can do at the church with our new rooms.
“Some of Gareth’s music is inspired by his faith but he has a really broad appeal and it will be his first gig in Cheshire. It’s different to St Peter’s previous events and I’m thrilled to have a musician of his quality perform at my local church.”
Proceeds will go to Christian Aid. There will be a photography exhibition ‘I Witness’, featuring life-changing projects in Haiti the church has participated in, presentations by charity staff and refreshments.
