Take the plunge for charity challenge
SWIMMERS of all shapes and sizes, ages and abilities are invited to take part in another exciting swimathon.
The Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle is organising its next annual charity event on Sunday, March 13.
It will be held at Macclesfield Leisure Centre, with each team of four to six swimming lengths of the pool in a relay over 45 minutes, with sponsorship money divided between the Rotary Club’s charities.
Alec Johnston, from the rotary club and who helps organise the event, said: “Emulate last year’s enthusiastic Fire Fish cadets team and create some team spirit, raise some funds for your group and Rotary charities and have a ‘whale of a time’ at the Macclesfield Castle Rotary swimathon.
“Just four to six people can make a great splash and join with 50 other teams to make a difference in the local community.
“Last year teams swam for scouts, churches, hospices local and national charities but all had a great day and a certificate.”
