RECENT cases from South and East Cheshire Magistrates Court: victim for two years. ●● DAVID Charles Bamford, 53, of Hayle Close, Macclesfield, admitted assault by beating. He was bailed to attend court on May 5 for a newton hearing to establish the basis of his plea. ●● CHRISTOPHER Craig Haslam, 34, of Gawsworth Road, Macclesfield, admitted two charges of theft and breaching a suspended sentence. He was jailed for 14 weeks. ●● CAROL Fawkner, 51, of Rutland Road, Macclesfield, denied dishonestly failing to notify the DWP about a change of circumstances which would affect her DLA entitlement namely, that there had been an improvement in her mobility restrictions and a reduction in her care needs. She was bailed to attend court on April 28 for trial. ●● BEN Andrew Mellor, 36, of Keats Drive, Macclesfield, denied driving without care and attention, wilfully obstructing a police officer and resisting a police officer. He was bailed to court on May 19 for trial. ●● LEIGH Alan Welch, 42, of Brookfield Lane, Macclesfield, admitted drink driving and failing to stop after an accident. He was ordered to complete 100 hours unpaid work and banned from driving for 26 months. ●● SIMON Andrew Tallen, 30, of West Street, Congleton, admitted three charges of assault in Macclesfield, criminal damage and assaulting a PC. He was given a 16 week prison sentence suspended for 12 months with supervision. He was also fined £310 and ordered to pay his victims £250 compensation. ●● CHRISTIAN Paul Gachet, 51, Macclesfield Road, Chelford, appeared in court charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He was bailed to attend Chester Crown Court on February 12. ●● CHARLIE Doherty, 31, of Peel Street, Macclesfield, admitted destroying a police codes of practice book. He was fined £80. ●● JOHN Whitmore, 20, of Peel Street, Macclesfield, admitted possession of two wraps of cannabis and driving without insurance or a licence. He was fined £80 and was banned from driving for 12 months.
