Sadness as jeweller Sevens set to shut
A JEWELLER’S and gift shop open for almost 30 years will close next month.
Sevens will shut its doors in the middle of March when the couple who own it retire.
The shop opened on Roe Street in 1986 before Terry and Beatrice Butler moved the business to Chestergate, where it has been for the last 14 years.
Macclesfield Central ward councillor Beverley Dooley said: “It’s very, very sad a shop like Sevens is closing.
“It’s yet another niche little shop shutting. The public want to see more small, independent retailers but they have to understand they need the footfall.
Sevens co-owner Terry said: “We are ready to go but we will miss the shop.”
