Premier ti­tle tri­umph for vet­eran Sue

ENG­LAND ta­ble ten­nis player Sue Col­lier, from Tyther­ing­ton, played in the largest team event for vet­eran play­ers in Don­caster this week­end.

She helped her team – ‘The Bribar Bunch’ – to achieved suc­cess by not only fin­ish­ing in se­cond po­si­tion in the av­er­ages but also play­ing her heart out to help them to win the Premier Divi­sion.

Her team has been se­cond for the last three years and were de­ter­mined to go one bet­ter this sea­son.

The team con­sisted of San­dra Rider (cap­tain), Emma Rose, Janet Adams and Joanna Roberts.

Sue is now train­ing hard for the World Cham­pi­onships in Ali­cante in May.

She has al­ready achieved a world bronze medal in New Zealand and is hop­ing to go one bet­ter as she moves into her new age group, the over 50’s, this year.

Sue is a lo­cal phle­botomist and is only able to work part time to en­able her to train for play­ing com­pet­i­tively on the English and in­ter­na­tional cir­cuit and is look­ing for any fi­nan­cial sup­port any lo­cal busi­ness can of­fer her and would be happy to en­dorse their com­pany by wear­ing their logo.
