Premier title triumph for veteran Sue
ENGLAND table tennis player Sue Collier, from Tytherington, played in the largest team event for veteran players in Doncaster this weekend.
She helped her team – ‘The Bribar Bunch’ – to achieved success by not only finishing in second position in the averages but also playing her heart out to help them to win the Premier Division.
Her team has been second for the last three years and were determined to go one better this season.
The team consisted of Sandra Rider (captain), Emma Rose, Janet Adams and Joanna Roberts.
Sue is now training hard for the World Championships in Alicante in May.
She has already achieved a world bronze medal in New Zealand and is hoping to go one better as she moves into her new age group, the over 50’s, this year.
Sue is a local phlebotomist and is only able to work part time to enable her to train for playing competitively on the English and international circuit and is looking for any financial support any local business can offer her and would be happy to endorse their company by wearing their logo.
If you would be interested in helping her please give her a call on 01625 500401.
