LOTS of readers were very sorry to hear about the loss of Sevens, on Chestergate, which will close when owners Terry and Beatrice Butler retire. Nadia Jackson: Oh no!!!!! Really sad, definitely stock up on cards before it closes! Susan O’Donnell French: Wishing the owners a long and happy retirement. This is very sad news for Macclesfield, it is becoming a ghost town. Other than the Treacle market, there will be no reason to come to Macclesfield and the cost of parking doesn’t help. Christina Webb: Sevens is a great shop and one that can be relied on for those special presents. Macclesfield needs more such shops, not less. Despite the disappointment, I do wish Beatrice and Terry very best wishes in their retirement. Rebecca Lucas: My most favourite shop! The excitement when opening a gift to see the pink tissue, then the purple.... knowing it’s from Sev- ens. How will we cope without this magical shop of treasures? Debbie Bridge: Oh no, this is my one stop shop for special gifts. Not sure where I will go now. Beatrice and Terry are such lovely people and I wish them an amazing retirement but so sad to lose my favourite shop xx Sue Armitt: On a more positive note, best wishes to Terry and Beatrice on your retirement. You’ve brought unique gifts to our town and been very generous in donating gifts for the charities and local resources. Thank you and enjoy your retirement x Jonathan Baguley: Another unique shop lost in our high street. No doubt to be replaced by faceless and soulless chain merchants or a coffee shop... Pegg Liz: Shame, such lovely gifts in this little shop, I’ve bought many lovely items, sad to see it go. Pauline Sellars: I will be sad to see this shop shut, bought many gifts here for friends and family over the years.
