Mary has the power to be crowned care home’s most active resident
A CARE home resident has won an award for being the most active.
Mary Ferrell, a resident at Parklands in Poynton, was crowned ‘Active Resident of the Month’ by Age Active, an organisation which provides fitness programmes for older people in the North West.
The 90-year-old beat 400 Age Active participants to win the award and was presented with a trophy and medal to mark her achievement.
While Mary’s talent lies in leg exercises, her favourite activity, she is also skilled at throwing and catching.
Denise Gleaves from Parklands said: “Mary didn’t expect to win at all, but was really pleased with her achievement and didn’t take off her medal for a whole week.”
