MACCLESFIELD Town were set to take on Torquay United last night (Tuesday) in their re-arranged FA Trophy tie.

The original fixture was postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch, meaning the game at the Launa Windows Stadium had to be pushed back.

It was a frustrating 24 hours for the Silkmen, after they had travelled down for the match on the Friday and stayed in a hotel overnight, only for it to be called off.

Tuesday’s game was set to begin as the Express went to print, with Macc making the trip to either Sutton United or Bognor Regis Town in the quarter finals of the competitions. if they were successful.

Bognor and Sutton drew 0-0 on Saturday, and their replay was also due to take place last night.

The quarter-final ties take place on Saturday 27 February and winning clubs receive £8000 from the FA’s prize fund.
