Jalal joy at return in time for run-in
MACC Town goalkeeper Shwan Jalal is looking forward to putting a difficult period behind him after he made his return to the team.
The Iraq international has been out of action for a month after picking up an injury in the 1-0 win at Tranmere Rovers at the start of January.
The 32-year-old is fit though, and made his return in the game against Forest Green Rovers last weekend.
And Jalal is excited to play his part during the run-in.
“It’s been a frustrating couple of the weeks since the Tranmere game,” he said. “I had something called a high ankle sprain which wasn’t actually in my ankle, it was just above my ankle.
“The doctor said it takes its time to heal and the physio has helped me a lot with my rehab.
“It was great to finally get back out there and play again, it was frustrating not being in the squad, having played for the majority of the season.”
It wasn’t a perfect return to the team for Jalal as Macclesfield suffered a 2-1 defeat to Forest Green.
“It was a very down dressing room after Forest Green as we felt both goals were avoidable,” he said.
“The manager told us what he thought on the Monday and we had his feedback so it’s been productive, and we’ve worked hard on the feedback.”
