Just three to take the stage for slim­line ver­sion of Sher­lock clas­sic

A THEATRE group is tak­ing a Sher­lock Holmes clas­sic and giv­ing it a hu­mor­ous twist for its next per­for­mance.

A slimmed down cast from Mac­cles­field Am­a­teur Dra­mat­ics So­ci­ety (MADS) will per­form Sir Arthur Co­nan Doyle’s The Hound of the Baskervilles, with just three ac­tors telling the tale with noth­ing more than a few props.

Cameron Chandler, who is di­rect­ing the play, said: “The trio play all the roles, both male and fe­male, us­ing noth­ing more than a few props and sheer in­ge­nu­ity.

“This play keeps get­ting fun­nier each time we re­hearse it.

“The cast have such great en­ergy and real chem­istry with each other. We’re all hav­ing a blast and it re­ally shows.”

Holmes will be played by Peter Munro, with Lo­gan West­brook as his side­kick Dr Wat­son and Matthew Coath as var­i­ous Baskerville char­ac­ters.

The show runs from Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 29, to Satur­day, March 5, at the Lit­tle Theatre on Lord Street.
