Churchill’s Secret ITV, 8pm

Macclesfield Express - - TVWEEK -

Much has been written and said about Winston Churchill since his death in 1965, but for many years, little was mentioned about the stroke he had in 1953 during his second spell as Prime Minister. This feature-length drama sheds more light on what happened, and why it was hushed up. It’s told through the eyes of a young nurse, Millie, who is summoned to a secret location where she learns her latest assignment is to care for the ailing politician. Churchill is not expected to survive, and as his family gathers by his bedside, old tensions begin to reappear.
