Sales­man stole from bed firm

A BED sales­man has ad­mit­ted steal­ing hun­dreds of pounds from his em­ploy­ers.

Daniel Thor­ley, 30, be­trayed bosses at Ben­sons for Beds at Lyme Green retail park in Mac­cles­field over a year.

His crime spree be­gan on June 21, 2014, when he stole £100 from the re­tailer, which spe­cialises in beds, mat­tresses and bed­room fur­ni­ture.

He waited un­til May 26 , 2015, to of­fend again when he trans­ferred £250 from the com­pany to his own bank ac­count.

Then on June 10 he stole £800 cash from the firm.

Ap­pear­ing at Crewe mag­is­trates’ court on Fe­bru­ary 12, Thor­ley, of Allen Street, Mac­cles­field, ad­mit­ted fraud by false rep­re­sen­ta­tion and two charges of theft.

He also ad­mit­ted breach­ing a com­mu­nity or­der by fail­ing to at­tend un­paid work ses­sions twice.

This was fol­low­ing his sen­tence when he was caught drink driv­ing while al­most three times the limit on Ch­ester­gate in Mac­cles­field on Septem­ber 13, last year.

Thor­ley was given a com­mu­nity or­der with 200 hours un­paid work and or­dered to pay back stolen money.
