Funding on offer to help the community get more active
A SOCIAL enterprise which aims to get people more active is offering a cash boost to Macclesfield groups.
Active Cheshire is a strategic commissioner of sport and physical activity in Cheshire and Warrington, which means its job is to encourage the community to be more active.
This can include helping groups of people get involved with more organised activities, or funding plans for non-traditional routes to a healthier lifestyle.
As part of its latest scheme ‘Active Anywhere,’ they have a pot of £200,000 to help people to improve their physical activity habits and is open to suggestions on how the money can be spent.
Anyone can register , whether you are a group of young mums, luncheon club, a parish council, or even an extra care facility with a new idea.
Anne Boyd, chief executive of Active Cheshire said: “(Last year) the quality and breadth of applications we received for the last investment round was truly impressive, so I’m hoping that this year we will see new and innovative projects that make a difference to people’s lives and deliver the greatest sustainable impact for the residents of Cheshire and Warrington.”
