Meal is thank-you to centre’s community supporters
VOLUNTEERS from a community centre thanked their supporters with a special lunch gathering.
Bollington Community Centre is based on Ovenhouse Lane and is used as a venue for a variety of regular activities including a luncheon club, bingo, flower club, and horticultural society.
It’s available for hire by community clubs and societies and relies on a team of volunteers and grants from organisations such as the town council for improvement works.
The centre welcomed its supporters to a lunch gathering.
Susan Coen, from the centre, said: “We welcomed our supporters to thank them for their support over the years.
“The centre is a volunteer led facility.
“The event was hosted by the current committee for the centre which is led by Pat Haddleton, who was awarded the British Empire Medal last year for her outstanding services to the community.
“Without the backing of the supporters who use the facility, attend events and who have given generous donations, both with time and funding, it would not be possible to keep the centre running to the high standard we see today.
“Anyone interested in either booking the centre for an event or if you could be interested in offering some time to support the centre please get in touch.”
