Des­per­ate ap­peal af­ter jew­ellery theft

A COU­PLE have launched a des­per­ate ap­peal to trace be­spoke jew­ellery stolen in a bur­glary.

John and Gail Webb, whose Bolling­ton home was raided in Novem­ber last year, have turned to the pub­lic for help af­ter po­lice were un­able to re­cover pre­cious items taken.

The bur­glary is be­lieved have taken place be­tween 11am and 1.30pm on Mon­day, Novem­ber 16, while Mrs Webb was out shop­ping.

Thieves forced their way through a pa­tio door on Hazel­hurst Drive, Bolling­ton, be­fore ran­sack­ing the house of 56 items in­clud­ing a be­spoke ring, bracelet, neck­lace, ear­rings and an­kle chain, which all had a spi­der theme. These items, worth more than £12,000, were hand­crafted in gold with di­a­monds.

Mrs Webb said: “The jew­ellery are items that can­not be re­placed. They are hand­crafted from a work­shop in Macclesfield and be­spoke to me. It is re­ally up­set­ting to think I will never see or wear them again. I just hope some­one recog­nises them and gets in touch with the po­lice.”

Other jew­ellery taken in­cluded: di­a­mond ear­rings, gold heartshaped locket with photo, a gold watch, a gold eter­nity ring with sap­phires and di­a­monds, a gold signet ring en­graved with ‘GCB’, a gold neck­lace with sap­phire and di­a­mond pen­dant, a sil­ver Egyp­tian wed­ding ring, a sil­ver spi­der brooch, a gold ship brooch, a white gold en­gage­ment ring with soli­taire di­a­mond, Alice in Won­der­land-themed bracelet, neck­lace and ear­rings.

Thieves also got away with a cam­era, lap­top, Black­berry mo­bile phone and iPhone.
