Capturing our icy winter wonderland
KEEN photographers wrapped up warm to snap pretty wintry scenes this week when snow settled across Macclesfield.
The town was covered with a blanket of snow at the weekend and Express readers grabbed cameras to capture the snowy scenes and post them online.
Among the snappers who braved the cold was Michelle Foden who sent a picture of the Adelphi Group on their lunchtime walk in the snow through Bollington and Kerridge, Don Dawber who sent an image of dog Kimmi in Macclesfield Forest and Duncan Cowley who enjoyed a walk along the canal.
Express snapper Matt Ratcliffe sent pictures of dog walking, sledging and families making snow- men at South Park, including Gabriele De Gaudio Hansen enjoying his third birthday with mum Elena.
Sarah Dewar, who sent a picture of Sutton St James’ church, said: “I enjoyed a nice walk to playgroup with my little girl in the snow.”
The snow caused hazardous driving conditions. The A537/A54 Cat and Fiddle road was shut and there was a crash on the B5470 Rainow Road at its junction with Lidgetts Lane. Two cars collided but no one was injured.
