Firm toasts US success after $1m turnover
AMACCLESFIELD business is celebrating after its US office reached nearly $1m in sales in its first year of trading.
Direct Food Ingredients, based at Waters Green, opened an office in Los Angeles with 75,000 square feet warehousing and a distribution facility in February last year.
Steve Loake, founder and managing director of Direct Food Ingredients, says he is thrilled with the first year trading.
He said: “Our entry into the US market has been focused on our two core areas of sports nutrition and nutraceuticals, and to be turning over just under $1m at the end of our first year is very encouraging indeed.
“The Direct Food Ingredients brand has been built upon employing the highest quality standards in everything we do, and we have benefited from the fact that many areas of the US market are driven by low quality imports from China.
“Our stringent quality assured offer has seen considerable demand. In a matter of months we brought on board 12 USbased large manufacturer clients.”
The Los Angeles office is the first of the Direct Food Ingredients international offices.
This news follows exceptional 2015 UK trading results for Direct Food Ingredients, which saw the business generate £13.7m in sales, a 52 per cent like for like annual growth on the previous year.
