VIC­TO­RIA Road, home to Macclesfield Cricket Club, has win­tered well and re­ceived a large turnout at pre-sea­son nets.

The ground has seen fur­ther im­prove­ments, this time in the shape of a new grounds­man’s hut, and the club is also hop­ing to in­stall a new prac­tice net fa­cil­ity and are ap­peal­ing for lo­cal spon­sors to come for­ward to help get this project off the ground.

“There are a va­ri­ety of mu­tu­ally ben­e­fi­cial spon­sor­ship op­por­tu­ni­ties avail­able with Macclesfield CC,” a spokesman said. “Aside from pro­duc­tion costs, all monies are rein­vested to sup­port on­go­ing ground im­prove­ments, such as the new net fa­cil­ity, im­prov­ing the club for ju­nior and se­nior mem­bers.

With only six weeks un­til the new sea­son begins, the play­ers are back in train­ing and look­ing ahead to an­other suc­cess­ful cam­paign on the pitch.

The 1st XI open up with a tough fix­ture at home against lo­cal ri­vals Alder­ley Edge on Satur­day 23rd April, 12.30pm start.
