Mum’s horror as toddler finds sex toy outside home
AMUM is outraged after her toddler found a sex toy in the stairwell outside her home.
Little Lola-Mae Grundy made the shocking discovery as they walked up to their flat, on Pembroke Road on the Weston estate in Macclesfield.
Mum Jade Beirne screamed and pulled her 19-month-old away.
Jade, 26, has spoken of her horror find and warned other residents to be careful.
Jade said: “I live on the first floor, so have to go up two flights of stairs to the flat. For the first time I let Lola-Mae climb the stairs ahead of me while I carried up her buggy.
“Suddenly I looked up and she was reaching out for that thing.
“I screamed and pulled her away. I was horrified.”
Jade, who works as a school cleaner, rushed Lola-Mae to the flat and called Macclesfield Hospital for advice.
She said: “I was so worried that she may have touched it before I could stop her so I gave her three baths in a row.
“It’s disgusting to think that it could have been discarded like that.
“I don’t care what people get up to in private, but no child should have to see that.”
Jade, who lives with Lola-Mae’s dad Anthony Grundy, who works as a panel beater, has complained about the incident to her landlord, Peaks and Plains Housing Trust.
She said: “I have had so many problems living in these flats, with broken glass on the stairs.
“It has really stressed me out and had an affect on Lola-Mae. “This is the final straw. “The flat is completely unsuitable for a young family and I am desperate to move away.”
Jacqui Sinnott-Lacey, operations director at Peaks and Plains, said: “We encourage neighbourliness among residents sharing communal stairways, which means having respect and consideration of the impact that their private lives have on each other.”
She added: “I’m so sorry to hear that Ms Beirne is finding it difficult to find alternative suitable accommodation for herself and family.
“We are aware that Ms Beirne has been applying through Cheshire East Choice based lettings scheme to move elsewhere and have given her advice on bidding for suitable properties as they become available.”
