Woman stole £4k from firm

A WOMAN has avoid jail af­ter ad­mit­ting steal­ing more than £4,000 from her bosses at a car deal­er­ship.

Ni­cola Ann Moore, 32, stole cash on 11 oc­ca­sions while work­ing at ALM Garages, on Win­ter­ton Way, Mac­cles­field, over a 17-month pe­riod.

She started her thiev­ing spree in Jan­uary 2013, tak­ing £500, but didn’t steal again un­til the fol­low­ing July when she took £349.

Moore struck again in the Au­gust, tak­ing £227, and Septem­ber, tak­ing £349, be­fore wait­ing un­til March the fol­low­ing year to hit three times, tak­ing £649, £250 and £240.

She stole an­other £349 in May, £250 in June and her fi­nal acts of dis­hon­esty were tak­ing £500 twice in July 2014.

The thefts, which to­talled £4,163, were dis­cov­ered and Moore was sacked.

At Mac­cles­field mag­is­trates’ court on Fe­bru­ary 25, Moore of Aca­cia Av­enue, Chea­dle Hulme, ad­mit­ted 11 counts of theft.

She was sen­tenced to prison for six months, sus­pended for 12 months, and or­dered to do 120 hour un­paid work.

She was or­dered to pay ev­ery penny back in com­pen­sa­tion.

ALM Garages de­clined to com­ment.
