power of arrest other than by a citizen’s arrest. Pathetic cheap policing! Dave Paterson: These guys do a great service Danny Hunter: Don’t park illegally then, simple. Pete Hamilton: PCSOs are supposed to support the community not the police! Lesleyann Hehir: If you park your car like that then does it matter who gives you a ticket? Park where we all have to park, in the car park! Chris Bamford: I wish they would hand them out on Park Lane in Poynton. I’m sick of having to dodge the lazy and inconsiderate who schlep the pavement to pop in Greggs or the cashpoint. There’s so much free parking in Poynton it’s a disgrace. Adrian Shaw: Queensway is even worse and there’s a car park across the road! Tracy Parrott: Adrian no one seems to ever get a ticket there! It’s like wacky races on Queensway nowadays. Susan O’Donnell French: Isn’t there more important things to do? People are stopping coming into Macclesfield because of parking, shops closing etc, etc Carl Simpson: I take it most of the people who have commented are do-gooders and never park illegally, yeah right, if they weren’t supposed to hand them out they shouldn’t have done it, or shall I go out and hand tickets out? Danny Hunter: Regardless of whether its legal or not most of those motorists probably deserve the tickets so I’m fully behind the police on this one. Chris Bamford: In my experience the PCSOs in Poynton are absolutely brilliant. Polite, informa- tive and helpful. They are a tremendous asset to the village and I hope this article doesn’t reflect on them or the good service they deliver. Lyndon Swindell: The motorist who feels they are entitled a refund, are the ones who feel entitled to flout the law.... Sue Nicholls: I agree. Some people really take the mick when they park.
