Free meals as eaterie marks 10 years

AN INDIAN restaurant has thanked residents for their loyal custom by offering a generous birthday gift.

The Bayleaf Lounge on Wellington Road has been serving customers Indian dishes for 10 years now and has been celebratin­g its special anniversar­y.

It welcomes parties and groups for special occasions and hosts events at which customers are encouraged to wear Indian dress and dancers take part to create an authentic atmosphere.

Each year to mark the restaurant’s birthday, bosses offer free food for a week to thanks their loyal customers.

And this year was extra special as the restaurant, winner of the BCA Best Restaurant and Chef North West award for the last two years, marked the 10th anniversar­y.

They decided to offer free food for a week and threw a 10 year anniversar­y party. There were two sittings every day feeding 700 people over five festive days.

Foysol Syed, frontman and co-owner, known to the locals as ‘Mr F’, said: “This year sees the Bayleaf Lounge celebrate its 10th year in business in Bollington.

“We celebrated in style this week with an annual tradition. Every March for five successive nights customers are invited for a celebratio­n meal free of charge. I welcomed regulars and our guests to eat in the restaurant on the house.

“For this week our customers are our special guests. It’s our way of thanking them for their support every year.

“Over 700 customers have been catered for during this year’s celebratio­n week. Myself and chef Dilu Miah would like thank everyone who attended and look forward to many more years serving fine Indian and Bangladesh­i food to the people of Bollington.”
