Rising star Will Kershaw tackled the Rainbow Classic Criterium which was held on an indoor circuit at Event City in Manchester to coincide with Bike Expo.

The circuit had a slippy concrete surface and although Kershaw was in a group of six riders that broke way from the start, he fell with two laps to go and had to chase to get back in contention and was only able to finish fifth.

Four Wheelers competed in the Manchester and District 10 mile time trial on the notoriously slow course that runs from Twemlow Lane to Chelford Island and back. Chris Chaddock was the fastest from the Club with 23.52 (a very good time on this course) followed by Mark Halloway (24.31), Roger Wrenn (25.56) and Paul Fenton (26.25).

Several Wheelers prefer to escape the ravages of winter by riding at the Manchester Veldrome. Amongst those are Peter Jackson and Oliver Johnstone who race in the ACT Track League on a Monday evening. Johnstone has been having some success in recent weeks, including second place in the Scratch race and a win in the Course Des Primes, and is currently lying third in the overall points classification.
