Tickets on sale for annual beer festival
ALE fans are set to gather for the annual Macclesfield Beer Festival next month.
The charity event, which is now in its 22nd year and has raised £200,000 for charity, will take place at Macclesfield Rugby Club on May 6 and 7.
Around 4,000 people attended last year’s event supping 14,000 pints.
This year’s proceeds will be donated to Park Lane School, a special school for children with learning and physical difficulties, which plans to use the money to build an all-weather play area.
As well as 250 beers, wines, ciders and perrys on offer, there will be live music, a tombola, raffle, bar skittles and balloon sculptures.
Tickets are £10 for both of the two evening sessions, which start at 7pm, while the Saturday day time session for families is free.
Lorraine Warmer, headteacher at Park Lane School, said: “We have wanted to create a wheel chair accessible play area which our pupils can use all year round for quite some time now, so we’re thrilled to have the support of the Macclesfield Beer Festival committee and the Macclesfield Round Table.”
