POLICE are appealing again for information to trace a man who they issued an e-fit for in connection with a strange incident in a pub.

Officers released the efit of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident at The Park Tavern in Park Lane at around 6.45pm on January 12.

The man was seen acting in an odd manner and witnesses noticed there were AA batteries in a plastic case around his waist. He was asked to leave the premises but pulled out a knife and threatened a customer before fleeing at around 8.30pm.

The e-fit attracted a lot of interest and sparked imitations by readers who mocked the quality of the image. But even with the extra attention the man has not been found.

A police spokesman said: “No arrests have been made in this case so the incident is still open and anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 835 of January 12.”

The man is described as white, around 5’ 9”, in his late 30s, with short black hair, dark beard and slim face. He was wearing a black jacket with a grey jumper underneath, blue jeans and trainers.
