MACCLESFIELD Town U18 coach Robert Green hopes his team can end the season in style as they approach the final matches of the campaign.

Macc are floating around midtable in the NWYA Division One, with the team recently held to a 2-2 draw at home to Vauxhall Motors U18.

The Silkmen had to come from 2-0 down at half-time to rescue a point in that game, and Green was pleased with his team’s comeback.

“I think we did deserve at least a draw, but going two goals down is not great from our lads,” he said.

“They need to start sharper, which is something that myself and Paul have tried to work on.

“There are a few games to go now and we want to finish as high as we can.”

Vauxhall were 2-0 up at the interval, but Macc sprung into life in the second half and pulled one back through Luke Monaghan.

It got even better for the Silkmen when they levelled things up through Cory Bentley Knight when he fired past the opposition goalkeeper.

The Macclesfield youngsters had opportunties to win it in the closing stages, but in the end they had to settle for a point.
