Car hits brick wall

A 19-YEAR-OLD man has been ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of drug driv­ing af­ter a car hit a brick wall near Hi­bel Road round­about on Sun­day night.

The driver of the car and his 19-year-old pas­sen­ger are not be­lieved to have been in­jured. A Cheshire Po­lice spokesper­son said: “Po­lice were called at 7.21pm on Sun­day to at­tend the scene of a one ve­hi­cle col­li­sion by the Hi­bel Road round­about near Tesco.

“The ve­hi­cle in­volved was head­ing in the Mac­cles­field to Bolling­ton di­rec­tion at the time.

“The ve­hi­cle, a sil­ver Re­nault Clio, spun on the road. The ve­hi­cle then came to a stop near an elec­tri­cal box.

“Dur­ing the col­li­sion a brick wall and a street­lamp were dam­aged.

“No other ve­hi­cles were in­volved in the col­li­sion.”

A 19-year-old man from Mac­cles­field has been ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of drug driv­ing.

He has been re­leased on bail un­til June 6.
