BOSSES at an engineering company shared the secrets of its international success with the town’s MP.
Macclesfield MP David Rutley visited Opus Technical Ltd which is set to export new foam making equipment for the first time to the largest foam producer in India.
Chairman Bill Blackwell spoke of the company’s plans and how its development work is benefitting foam companies globally.
Opus Technical Ltd, a family firm based at Melville Road, Macclesfield, is a market leader in equipment and technology for the polyurethane foam industry, with more than 80 per cent of business exported.
The firm also works to promote engineering within schools, and is currently working with A-level students from the King’s School as part of the Engineering Education Scheme run by the Engineering Trust.
Speaking following the meeting, Mr Rutley said: “It was great to meet Bill and find out more about the business.
“The export deal with India is an exciting development, and is a good example of how local entrepreneurs are successfully realising important export opportunities.
“I am also pleased that the team is working hard to pass its enthusiasm for engineering to the next generation.”
