Macclesfield Express - - DRUGS MENACE -

THE Express is hoping to keep its title as the best in the country after being shortlisted again in the ‘Oscars of regional journalism’.

We’re proud to be one of six titles nominated for Weekly Newspaper of the Year at the Regional Press Awards.

The awards celebrate the best in local journalism from around the country and we will find out if we’ve won at a ceremony in London on May 20.

The team hopes to retain its title after winning the national award last year.

And this year, reporter Karen Britton is also hoping to add to the paper’s trophy haul after being shortlisted for Weekly Reporter of the Year.

Macclesfield Express editor Gareth Tidman said: “We’re delighted to be nominated and that the hard work of the team has been recognised again by the awards panel.”
