Macclesfield Express - - DRUGS MENACE -

POLICE are warning residents to be vigilant after a spate of break-ins.

There have been nine break ins to sheds, cars and homes in Poynton in the last week.

A Boardman mountain bike and a black, lime green and white mountain bike were stolen from two sheds on Towers Road on Wedesday night (April 20).

On Tuesday afternoon (April 19) a house was broken into on Hepley Road. No items were stolen. That night a garage at one house, car at another and a car and shed at a third house on Trafalger Close were broken into but nothing was stolen.

On the same night on Coppice Road, a Sat Nav was stolen from a car and four bikes were stolen from a shed, to be recovered later in a field.

The previous Friday, April 15, jewellery was stolen from a house on London Road North, at around 5.30pm.

Sgt Helen Percival said: “We are warning people to be more vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to us straight away.

“We ask residents to keep cars secure and windows shut and not to leave property on show.”
