BODY FOUND

POLICE were called to reports of a sudden death at an address on The Moss.

The body of a 51-year-old man was taken from a property on Canton Street at around 2pm on Thursday, April 28.

Police have not yet formally identified the body.

The coroner’s office has been informed.

A police spokesman said enquiries are ongoing but the cause of death is not thought to be suspicious.

Officers are attempting to contact the man’s family.

PRESSURE TEST

SHOPPERS were given urgent doctor referrals after a blood pressure event by the Stroke Associatio­n with The Rotary Club of Macclesfie­ld Castle at the Grosvenor Centre.

People had their blood pressure taken and got advice on how to reduce and keep it under control to decrease the risk of having a stroke.

There were 249 blood pressures taken that resulted in 44 routine referrals to their GP and 20 urgent referrals.
