De­spite th­ese con­cerns Mary­land Se­cu­ri­ties Ltd were given per­mis­sion for the plans pro­vided the flats were built with noise mit­i­ga­tion in mind. ●» PLANS gave been sub­mit­ted to con­vert a shop into a house.

Matthew Ho­p­ley has sub­mit­ted a change of use ap­pli­ca­tion for 29 Ch­ester Road.

The scheme in­cludes al­ter­ations to the front el­e­va­tion of the prop­erty, re­mov­ing the ex­ist­ing shop frontage and re­plac­ing with a tra­di­tional do­mes­tic ap­pear­ance. ●» A FOR­MER busi­ness could make way for new town cen­tre flats.

Sut­ton Cast­ings spe­cialised in the man­u­fac­ture of alu­minium com­po­nents, pat­terns, jigs, cast­ings and foundry work un­til the clo­sure of the busi­ness in 2008. ●» PLANS have been sub­mit­ted to build five new homes in the town cen­tre.

The scheme at Charles Roe Ltd is for land at Derby Vil­las, at Chatham Street, which in­cludes a car park and a sin­gle storey build­ing cur­rently used for stor­age.

All five homes would have two bed­rooms.

Ve­hi­cle ac­cess to the site would be via the ex­ist­ing ac­cess from Church Street West. The de­vel­op­ment in­cludes park­ing for five cars.
