Deal­ers who sold drugs on streets jailed

TWO mem­bers of a gang who sold drugs on the streets of Mac­cles­field have been locked up for more than eight years.

Thomas Quadrio, 32, ad­mit­ted con­spir­acy to sup­ply class A drugs af­ter a court was told that he had made sure that drugs were ‘al­ways avail­able’ on the streets of Mac­cles­field.

Quadrio’s main dealer was Dar­ren Cooper, 40, who was caught sell­ing drugs on the Weston es­tate, at times near St John The Evan­ge­list Pri­mary School.

Quadrio was jailed for five years at War­ring­ton Crown Court while Cooper was locked up for 40 months.

The gang of four men were snared as the re­sult of a year-long un­der­cover op­er­a­tion by the Cheshire Po­lice called Op­er­a­tion Alzira.

An­other dealer Ben­jamin Preece, 34, was caught sell­ing heroin on Jo­drell Street.

Quadrio em­ployed a driver, Peter Jones, 51, who used his Re­nault Clio to take him to and from Liver­pool where the sup­ply of drugs orig­i­nated from.
