A MAN dragged his girlfriend across the floor and shook her in an attack at home, a court heard.

Security guards attended after reports of a disturbance at the shared property on Becks Lane, Macclesfield.

They saw Jamie Condliffe, 25, and his girlfriend, who were aggressive, Macclesfield Magistrates heard.

The guards checked CCTV which showed Condliffe attacking his girlfriend after an argument in a communal kitchen.

Prosecuting, Debbie Byrne, said: “The defendant dragged her to the floor and shook her. Another male tried to split them up.

“The defendant was arrested and said he just wanted to get her out of the kitchen.”

Condliffe, of Fountain Street, Macclesfield, pleaded guilty to assaulting her on October 7 last year.

Defending, Stephen Rodgers said: “He and his girlfriend were drunk at the time.

“There’s no suggestion he struck her and the CCTV shows his girlfriend arguing and trying to get at him too.”

Condliffe was given a 12 month community order, fined £120 and must pay £250 costs and £60 victim surcharge.
