Fan con­tests match sta­dium ban or­der

A FOOT­BALL fan has suc­cess­fully con­tested a bid to ban him from ev­ery sta­dium in the coun­try.

At Crewe mag­is­trates’ court on Oc­to­ber 15, last year, Jack John­son, 23, ad­mit­ted be­ing drunk and dis­or­derly.

The of­fence oc­curred on Au­gust 29, last year, the same day as Mac­cles­field Town FC lost 2-1 to Ch­ester FC at the Moss Rose ground. He was bailed to at­tend Crewe mag­is­trates court on De­cem­ber 17 to con­tend at­tempts by Cheshire Po­lice to im­pose a na­tion­wide foot­ball ban­ning or­der on sen­tence. But the hear­ing was post­poned un­til May 12 where mag­is­trates in Mac­cles­field re­fused the po­lice’s ap­pli­ca­tion.

John­son, of Tay­lor­son Street South, Sal­ford Quays, was in­stead fined £320 and or­dered to pay £107 court costs.
