Fan contests match stadium ban order
A FOOTBALL fan has successfully contested a bid to ban him from every stadium in the country.
At Crewe magistrates’ court on October 15, last year, Jack Johnson, 23, admitted being drunk and disorderly.
The offence occurred on August 29, last year, the same day as Macclesfield Town FC lost 2-1 to Chester FC at the Moss Rose ground. He was bailed to attend Crewe magistrates court on December 17 to contend attempts by Cheshire Police to impose a nationwide football banning order on sentence. But the hearing was postponed until May 12 where magistrates in Macclesfield refused the police’s application.
Johnson, of Taylorson Street South, Salford Quays, was instead fined £320 and ordered to pay £107 court costs.
