Band join famous faces on live TV music showcase
A BAND from Macclesfield appeared alongside Sir Elton John on a hit live music TV show.
Spring King, which features Macclesfield’s Peter Darlington, played on Later with...Jools Holland on Tuesday (May 10).
The garage-punk four piece, which also includes Fallibroome Academy student Tarek Musa, starred alongside Sir Elton, Corinne Bailey Rae, Bloc Party, Kronos Quartet and Basia Bulat.
The band’s debut album ‘Tell Me If You Like To’ is out on June 10 on Island Records.
It features the hit single City and 13 other tracks including Detroit, Who Are You?, It’s So Dark, Take Me Away, Demons, Rectifier, Tell Me If You Like To, The Summer, Let’s Ride, Better Man, Mumma, They’re Coming After You, Heaven, and two live tracks.
Peter and Tarek have been writing and recording together since they were 13 and formed Spring King after they went to university.
The band had a whirlwind 2015 thanks in part to DJ Zane Lowe using their single ‘City’ to launch Apple’s radio station Beats 1.
