Cheshire East elects new mayor
CHESHIRE East’s new mayor has said she is ‘proud and humbled’ to represent the people and will work hard for her charities and the borough. Coun Olivia Hunter was invested as the mayor during a ceremony at Tatton Park.
She takes over from Coun Hilda Gaddum, who represents Sutton.
Coun Hunter told guests: “I thank you most sincerely for placing your trust in me. I give you my word I will always strive to do my best.”
Councillor Arthur Moran was elected as deputy mayor.
The new mayor has chosen The Christie and Cheshire East Young Carers as her two charities for the year.
