THE next in the series of ‘History Live’ events at Hollinsclough Village Hall will include a talk about surnames.
Speaker Brian Rich will present a talk on the history and significance of surnames.
He will look at why some surnames have disappeared – such as Swynlibber and Oilthegate.
And he will uncover the origins of some names which have survived until modern, including Coates, Crapper and Cruikshank.
The talk takes place on Wednesday, June 1, at 7.30pm,
