BROWNIES were treated like queens when they headed to Jodrell Bank for a special party.

The Prestbury Brownies were among more than 250 girls celebrating the Queen’s birthday in the shadow of the iconic Lovell Telescope.

They enjoyed a busy day of activities for the Tiara’s and Tea Party.

Anne Carsons, Brown Owl at Prestbury Brownies, said: “Activities ranged from a talk about the solar system, a hands on craft activity, followed by time in the Space Pavilion trying out various touch button experiences.

“Then out into the sunshine for a stroll round the garden trail with questions which had Royal answers.

“Finally a chance to try out the games under the Lovell Telescope.

“It all finished with tea on the lawns and a sing along to bring it to a close.”

She added: “Each Brownie went home with a special badge to remember the Queen’s birthday”.
