Shoplifter is locked up after racially abusing PC
A MAN who racially abused a police officer has been jailed.
Neal Adams, 41, was locked up for 24 weeks after he was convicted of ‘disgracefully racially abusive behaviour’ toward PC Basiratt.
At Macclesfield magistrates court, Adams, of Ash Grove, Macclesfield, admitted charges of theft, threatening behaviour and racially aggravated threatening behaviour.
He also admitted breaching a restraining order issued by Warrington Crown Court in February.
Adams stole a bottle of wine worth £10 from the Morrisons store in Macclesfield on February 21.
The same day he caused PC Basiratt harassment, alarm or distress by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
On March 13, Adams was racially abusive to the same officer.
On May 8 he breached the restraining order.
The court recorded that it was Adams’ third breach of a restraining order imposed three months ago.
Court records show magistrates jailed Adam for ‘wilful breach of a court order’, his ‘disgraceful racially abusive behaviour’ and his previous list of convictions.
