THIEF JAILED

A MAN with a ‘horrendous’ criminal record has been jailed for theft.

Gareth Lee Oldham, 32, of Pitt Street, Macclesfield, admitted stealing groceries and alcohol worth £44.27 from McColls in Sandbach and breaching four supervision orders.

Crewe magistrates jailed him for 112 days.

Court records said magistrates felt they would be ‘failing in their duty if they did not impose custody’ because of the ‘horrendous record of offending’.
